The Masamune Shaving Brush combines a stainless steel handle with a synthetic fibre knot, designed to prepare and distribute shaving lather evenly. Its design follows the minimalist lines of the Masamune collection, creating a well-balanced piece to incorporate into a traditional shaving routine.
The synthetic fibres have been selected to provide a balance between softness, firmness and density. The knot allows you to work the shaving soap or cream until a consistent lather is achieved, whilst helping to lift the hair and distribute the lather across the areas to be shaved.
As it does not use animal hair, it is a vegan option and suitable for those wishing to avoid such materials. The synthetic fibres dry more quickly than many natural bristles and do not require a break-in period, making maintenance simpler between uses.
The handle is CNC-machined from AISI 303 stainless steel and subsequently finished by hand. The Matte version features a sandblasted matt finish; in the Dark version, the steel has a black PVD coating, creating a more striking interpretation of the same design.
Produced in Portugal in partnership with Semogue, the brush combines Tatara’s expertise in precision metalwork with the know-how of a Portuguese manufacturer specialising in shaving brushes since 1954. The selection and assembly of the knot are carried out by hand at Semogue’s premises.
