The Amakuni Safety Razor has been designed to use Single Edge blades in the Artist Club format. The greater width and rigidity of this type of blade allow it to cover a wider area with each stroke, whilst maintaining precise and controlled use.
Its two-piece construction incorporates a magnetic system that makes it easy to fit and replace the blade. Four magnets in the plate and four in the cap help to position and keep the components aligned, simplifying assembly without the need for threaded mechanisms on the head.
The low-profile head facilitates access to more difficult areas, such as the area immediately below the nose. The geometry features a gap between the blade and the plate of 0.85 mm, a positive exposure of 0.06 mm and a cutting angle of 29°, values measured using an Artist Club Professional blade.
Made from stainless steel, the Amakuni has a matt finish and weighs 85 g. The curved handle is designed to follow the natural position of the hand and features 294 small indentations, arranged to enhance grip during shaving.
The razor is presented in a natural cork box, wrapped in a 100% cotton sleeve with letterpress printing. This presentation allows the Amakuni to be stored and protected between uses, keeping all components organised.
